SUA Media LLC (“SUA”, “we”, “us”) operates the SUA mobile app. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
Account information
If you create an account, we collect your email address. If you sign in with Apple, Google, or Facebook, we receive the basic identity information those services share with us (typically name and email). We never see or store your password for those services.
Profile information (optional)
After signing up you may choose to tell us your name, age range, gender, preferred language, ZIP code, and interests such as food, events, music, or news. All of this is optional. You can skip it, change it, or clear it at any time in Settings, and the app works without it.
Location
With your permission, we use your device’s location to show you news, restaurants, and events near you. We convert your coordinates into a city and ZIP code and use that. You can deny or revoke this permission in your device settings; if you do, the app falls back to a default market.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, we store the push token your device issues, along with your platform (iOS or Android) and ZIP code, so we can send relevant local alerts.
Connected music services
If you connect Apple Music, Spotify, or Amazon Music, we use that connection only to show your content inside SUA. We never receive your password for those services, and we do not post or change anything in your account.
What we do not collect
We do not collect payment card numbers, government IDs, your contacts, your photos, or background location tracking.
2. How we use information
- To show local news, restaurants, events, and music
- To operate your account and keep you signed in
- To send notifications you asked for
- To select which ads are shown and measure how they perform, in aggregate
- To improve the app
3. Advertising
SUA is supported by advertising. Ads may be selected based on general information such as your city, language, age range, or interests, and never your name, email, or exact address.
We do not sell your personal information. You can learn about industry-wide advertising choices and opt out of interest-based advertising at optout.aboutads.info, which is also linked in the app under Settings, AdChoices.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the app: Supabase (accounts and database), Expo (push notification delivery), Apple, Google and Facebook (sign-in, if you choose it), Apple Music, Spotify and Amazon Music (music, if you connect a service), Google/YouTube (video), and Yelp and Ticketmaster (restaurant and event listings).
When you open a news article, watch a video, or play a station, that content is delivered by the third party and their own privacy policy applies to that activity.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
5. Your choices and rights
You can at any time edit or clear your profile details in Settings, turn location or notifications off in your device settings, disconnect a music service, or delete your account, which deletes your profile and push tokens.
To request access to or deletion of your information, email studiocreative@suamedia.com and we will respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act. We honor these requests regardless of your location.
6. Data retention and security
We keep your information while your account is active. Account data is protected by row-level security so that only you can read your own record. Credentials stored on your device are kept in the device’s encrypted secure storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
7. Children
SUA is not directed to children, and you must be 18 or older to create an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, ask you to review the new version in the app.
